Funeral services for the departed will be held on Saturday, January 18th, at 11:00 am at Church on the Rock, located at 2130 Middlebury Street, Elkhart. Visitation will precede the service, commencing at 10:00 am, allowing an opportunity for friends and family to gather and share condolences. The service will be conducted by Pastor Tony Tice. A private burial service will be held at a later date, providing a time for immediate family to bid a final farewell.

A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, January 31st, at the funeral home, beginning at 10:00 am. Pastor Ron Russell will officiate this service, offering comfort and remembrance to those gathered. This provides a chance to reflect upon the life and legacy of the individual, offering a sense of closure and shared grief.

Cynthia "Cindy" Jean Hawkins, 59, of Middlebury, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, May 8th, at 10:45 pm. Cindy faced a challenging battle, diagnosed with glioblastoma (brain cancer) in June 2023. She bravely continued treatments until April 2024, when she entered hospice care at home. Throughout her illness, she remained surrounded by the love of her family, a testament to the strength of her spirit.

Further funeral arrangements are planned for the departed. The service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22nd, at Miller Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street, Middlebury. Services will be conducted by Pastor James Hochstetler. Burial will follow in Clinton Union Cemetery, Goshen, a final resting place among those who came before.

Another service will be at 3:00 pm on Monday, March 3, at the funeral home. Services will be conducted by Pastor Gary Sheets.

The life of a lifelong area resident, having lived the past 23 years in Middlebury, will be remembered with a funeral service. He graduated from Fairfield High School and is a 2017 graduate of Worsham College of Mortuary Science. Doug spent 17 years working at Jayco prior to joining the funeral home. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the 12:00 noon funeral service on Wednesday, September 18, at the funeral home. Services will be conducted by Pastor Josh Watts.
